Ebay is a great place to find enterprising pipehackers hawking their latest creation. A casual search will usually turn up a thingamajig that defies explanation or can leave you speechless. Behold the Bagpipe Mute.

I think we’ve all seen a piper or three who could stand to be heard less. At least their hands will be hidden to protect the innocent. I can see it now, “I put on my Bagpipe Mute and suddenly I had perfect tone!” Only $99!

    A friend of mine has one of these. He says it’s a little strange to play with, throwing off the weight balance of the pipe, but it essentially works.
