Donald discusses his ideas about how the encounters between these two cultures affected the development of the bagpipe (and its music) that we know today.

Where did the pipes come from? No one knows for sure.
The silver pipes of Ur (to learn more about Ur, click here) were discovered by Sir Leonard Woolley in 1926. This is, as far as we know, the earliest known reeded instrument, dated back to circa 2800 B.C.
